Whole Grains
Healthiest Source of
Carbohydrate

Over the years, we are beginning to find more people appreciating the benefits of whole grains. This group of foods was lost in our daily diet when the American fast food started to overwhelm as our basic staple.

Whole grains have many positive effects toward our colon cleansing. It is made of both soluble and insoluble fibers and therefore provides significant amounts of fiber in our diet. It is shown that countries with high fiber intake have a trend toward lower chances of colon cancer.

It through these two types of fibers that our colon can be cleansed more thoroughly and leave behind lesser residue within our colon that might inflict cancer growth.

It is important to recognize that animal products and processed refined food like white bread contains no fiber or minimal fiber. It is through such foods that set the higher chances of developing colon cancer among the Americans and other Western countries.

In addition, these high fiber grain foods also provide cleansing process against excess estrogens within our blood. It works together with the liver (filtering blood) and the bile from the gallbladder to remove this toxin away through the bile into the intestinal tract and then excreted as waste.

Whole grains assist to reduce the development of toxic chemicals created by bile acids with the bacteria in the gut that can cause colon cancer. Its fiber synergistically reacts with the bile acid and neutralizes their possible interaction with the microflora.

Many more great benefits can be found especially in the controlling blood sugar. Because they are complex carbohydrates so they are known for their low glycemic effect.

This leads to a well-controlled insulin release that does not result in any spikes in our blood glucose levels. This is especially beneficial for diabetic patients as well as preventing chances of developing diabetes.

It also contains high amounts of vitamins and minerals like vitamin E, vitamin B complexes, and selenium. These are important nutrients that assist in our cellular repair, healing and cleansing, and cancer prevention.

Here are some examples of whole grains that we should consume on a regular basis:

  • Whole millet
  • Brown rice
  • Quinoa
  • Buckwheat
  • Barley
  • Rolled oats

These grains should never be grounded into flour or processed in any manner. The reason is the oils on grains will transform into rancid oils that can toxic to our body and become carcinogens. Therefore, grains are also not meant to be kept for long once they are grounded or cracked.
