| One of the integral parts for optimal cleansing and healing is consuming raw food diet. It defers greatly from cook or processed food in that it does not lead to the destruction of enzymes and other nutrients existing within these food. Raw food refers mainly to organically grown raw fruits, vegetables, whole seeds, nuts, seeds, or grains. Why are these foods important? They have the potential to sprout which represents the creation of new life. So some proponents also categorize them as live foods. Other types of raw food are root vegetables like carrots, beets, onions, turnips, and sweet potatoes. Food that contains seeds is also considered live foods, for example tomatoes, apples, green beans, cucumber, and squash. Once food is cooked, they loose the ability to regenerate and are referred to as dead. There are studies that showed heating of food up to 118 Fahrenheit actually destroys the enzymes within these foods. Therefore, we should avoid taking away these rejuvenation and protective nature within them. The raw food diet concept revolves a lot on the digestive enzymes found within uncooked food. These enzymes helps to digest food we eat and they are widely available in raw food to facilitate the process. Instead if food is cooked, our body needs to produce these enzymes to digest these foods. As our body is busy digesting food, it becomes difficult for the enzymes to be utilized for our metabolic functions. This depletes necessary enzymes for our cleansing and healing process required by our body. In addition, cooking reduces the amount of vitamins and minerals present in the food besides the enzymes. These vitamins and minerals are used by our body organs to work on their natural detoxification process removing toxins as well as rejuvenating themselves. So consuming cooked food results in our organs working a lot harder to produce the required digestive enzymes to detoxify. This overworking is further stressed since there are minimal amount of nutrition to regenerate. Therefore, raw food diet helps most for people who are overweight or with obese problems. Their main problem lies with their daily diet which is too rich in fat and sugar. The raw foods will not contain any fat or refine sugar. It will replace them with great amount of nutrition and enzymes that boost their body’s detoxification process to clear those toxins and fats.
