Kidney Detox System
Filtering Out Waste and Toxins

The kidney detox system is very important within our body. It is the filtration system in our body for clearing water and solutes, provide hormones to regulate blood cell production, regulate blood pH, and remove toxic waste from our blood. All these amazing activities are largely performed by the nephrons.

Many waste materials pass by our kidney to be filtered and excreted. Whenever nutrition is metabolized, there are waste products being produced that need to be cleared from our body. Protein contributes many byproducts after its metabolism.

It leads to the release of toxic waste materials like ammonia and urea and this is especially so when there is high consumption of animal food products.

The kidney detox system also helps to regulate the amount of sodium, chloride, sulfate, phosphate, and hydrogen substances in our body. It prevents them from accumulating within our body and helps to excrete them via the urine.

We have to ensure the health and quality of our kidney. It is highly sensitive to our dietary habits and situations where overloading of animal products, sodium, refined sugar, processed foods, and alcohol can stress out our kidney function. It is also particularly fragile to the introduction of heavy metals like lead and mercury that can damage it extensively.

Similar to the colon detox system, once there is lack of consumption of water or not going to toilet often enough, then it is very likely that the urine passed out will have a more pungent odor.

The reason is the accumulation of waste within our body, especially ammonia and urea, and not having enough water to flush out these toxic wastes. Allowing these toxic wastes remain in our body too long can also lead to problems like infection of the urinary system.

Ensure that we provide our body with at least 8 – 10 glasses of water each day. It assists in the kidney to flush out as much waste from our body as well as replenish the water lost during urine excretion.

It is important to note that filtered water is preferred than tap water or even boiled water. This is because too much chemicals are often used to clean up our tap water and once consumed in our body can lead to further accumulation of toxic chemicals over time.

There are some herbs and foods that can assist in building our kidney health and also facilitate its filtering process more efficiently. The kidney is sensitive and can easily face problems like inflammation, slow urine flow, accumulation of uric acid, and crystal formation.
