Colon Detox System The Natural Process of Clearing Waste and Toxins
Our colon detox system works in an interesting way. Food after consumption will reach our colon in 8 to 10 hours time. At this point, millions of microorganisms residing in the colon will begin their process of digestion. Within these microorganisms are segregated into the friendly and harmful bacteria. These friendly bacteria are also known as gut flora. The friendly bacteria help by synthesizing some vitamins and breaking down remaining proteins in the chyme. They are found in greatest quantity around the ascending colon and reduce as it approaches the descending colon. The gut flora also helps in repressing the harmful bacteria growth. It also helps in building the gut’s mucosal immune system and stimulates lymphoid tissue in the gut to produce antibodies to infectious agents. During this process, there are some byproducts being created which are toxic and has to be cleared from our body. Therefore, our daily consistent bowel movement is important to rid this toxic. We should be expecting a bowel movement every 8 to 12 hours. Therefore, it is vital for us to have good dietary habits like fiber. Without enough fiber, stool will not be able to pass through the colon easily. The slower it gets the more water is being absorbed by the colon. Then the stool becomes harder and so makes it difficult to be excreted. As these feces stay longer in our body, the gut flora function less efficiently and they eventually get overtaken by the harmful bacteria (putrefactive bacteria). They release chemicals while fermenting our stool which explains to the strong odor as we delay our bowel movement longer and longer. There will also be a lot of intestinal gas being produced during this process of fermenting. Another area of attention is the intestinal tract wall and its lining. If we consistently have poor diet, it can introduce many toxic byproducts that get entrapped on the intestinal tract lining. Because the intestinal tract is heavily linked with arteries and veins, these toxins can be released back into our bloodstream. When such toxins goes back into our body, we can experience cases of fatigue, drowsiness, and in certain worse case cause inflammation of our body tissues. Our colon detox system has the capability to build mucous substances (known as putrefactive debris) to protect the intestinal wall from toxic compounds. However, as this putrefactive debris gets thicker, it will block the absorption of nutrients and allows toxins in the colon to flow back into our bloodstream. It further encourages the growth of other bacteria and also sets up an environment conducive for parasite growth. These can change the growth of our epithelial cells and lead to cancer. The colon detoxification system will function efficiently as long as there are no contaminations or clotting through our improper diet. A healthy colon avoids the issues of toxic bowels as well as toxic blood being introduced into our body system. We have to ensure that this waste disposal channel is cleared all the time and prevent the build up of toxins and carcinogenic materials. More Information: 1. Liver Function 2. The Colon 3.
