Bowel Movement Herbs
After Colon Cleansing

Before we discuss about bowel movement herbs, it is important to understand the different functions of colon cleansing herbs and herbs that improve bowel movements. Colon cleansing herbs draws out the toxins from our colon and it is important for us to clear it from our body. We use additional herbs to increase our peristaltic activity so that these toxins are effectively "moved out" of our body in a consistent manner. If not, we might experience constipation with greater amount stool bulk and toxins.

Here are some bowel movement herbs:

Turkey Rhubarb: A root herb that is found in most colon cleansing products. It actually promotes bowel movement and encourages the flow of bile.

Cascara Sagrada: Derived from the Native American medicine. It stimulates secretion within the digestive tract and this improves our bowel movement frequency.

Aloe Vera: It is well-known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has also been traditionally used for relieving constipation and assisting in healing of ulcers. It impedes the growth of candida in our intestines and so enhance the purification process to improve our intestinal health.

Barberry: An Egyptian herb that is known as an natural antibiotic. It stimulates the action of white blood cells for boosting our immune system. It is also used for improving bile flow, liver function, digestion and improve bowel movements.

Ginger: It lowers cholesterol through the effective clearance of bile in the liver. It has been used traditionally for relieving flatulence and bloating. It cleanse the bowels, kidneys, and skin.

Sage: A good antimicrobial herb especially against Staphylococcusaureus bacteria. It is also known for antifungal compounds with liver-supportive properties.

Black Walnut: It has the ability to destroy worms and parasites with antifungal properties against candida.

Slippery Elms: A natural laxative with gentle effects. It is good in soothing the digestive tract and absorbs toxins.

There are some colon cleansing products that also comprise of these bowel movement herbs. Therefore, the synergistic effect can be felt with these two different categories of herbs used together. Remember to consume the products based on their recommended instructions. Do not attempt to over-consume.

You should be expecting stool to be bulkier and soft. You can see that it is ropy and lighter in color. These are good signs of proper colon cleansing. There are times where your stool is runny or contain some amounts of mucus which is not a call for concern. An important note to point is these herbs should not be taken on a regular basis. It is only recommended during cleansing or occasional constipation problems.
