Alcohol Detox Supplements

During your alcohol detoxification process, consuming helpful alcohol detox supplements, including both nutritional and herbal supplements, will be good in improving your cleansing process. These are some of the basic anti-oxidants and vitamins that should be available in alcohol detox supplements: Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacinamide (B3), Pantothenic acid (B5), Pyridoxine (B6), Pyidoxal-5-phosphate, Cobalamin (B12), Folic Acid, Biotin, Choline, Inositol, Vitamin C, Bioflavanoids, Glutathione.

  • Basic minerals are: Calcium, Chromium, Copper, Iodine, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenium, Potassium, Selenium, Silicon, Vanadium, and Zinc.

  • Vitamin B-complexes (B1 - B6) are known for circulation and blood cleansing.

  • During excessive alcohol consumption, we will lose a lot of zinc, iron, calcium, and magnesium. So it is important to replace these minerals greatly.

  • High amounts of vitamin C up to 1000mg should be consumed daily three to four times a day to reduce inflammation caused by free radicals and manage alcohol withdrawal and recovery.

  • Choline and inositol are known to improve fat digestion and utilization.

  • Glutathione prevents fat buildup in the liver (this is a very common occurrence: fatty liver) that can damage the liver over time.

  • Lemon water + cold-pressed olive oil + cayenne pepper are known for detoxifying the liver. They can help nourish the liver and clear out the toxins within.

  • Milk thistle (Silymarin) are one of the most well-known herb that protects and heal the liver. 60 to 100mg twice daily is recommended for withdrawal cases.

  • Parsley tea improves kidney elimination and cleanse the blood.

  • Essential fatty acids can reduce inflammatory prostaglandins.

  • Gamma-linolenic acid from evening primrose or borage seed oil reduces alcohol toxicity.

  • Chamomile and licorice root calms the digestive tract.
Excessive consumption of alcohol has toxic effect toward our body with the generation of free radicals. Therefore, consuming alcohol detox supplements at higher than Daily Recommended Index (DRI) is needed to generate enough anti-oxidants to fend the free radicals off and protect our body.
